NEEM EN EET HIERVAN
(JOERI CHIPSVINGERS ALBUM 2)
NEEM EN EET HIERVAN
Joeri is stuck. Stuck inside his own head. In ‘Neem en eet hiervan’
Joeri searches for the exit, but confusing, hateful, and intrusive
voices soon complicate his quest. Where do these voices
come from? Is he not alone in his head?
No peace anywhere.
And as if that weren't enough, a lump of heartache lies to his left,
while a paralyzing panic attack charges in from the right. And the uncertainty? It rules with a "crunchy" hand.
It is a journey of many falls, but also a little bit of getting back up.
Will Joeri win the battle with himself? Will he find the way?
Or will he fall into his own trap once again?
In this second album, the complexity of Joeri's character
comes to the forefront for the first time: he battles his inner demons, talking (or raving) about uncertainty, loneliness, broken hearts, vulnerability, and love. In short, the grand and small tragedies of
life that the audience will undoubtedly recognize.
The music, performed by Nemø ensemble, serves as a
necessary auditory extension of this. It is the sonic expression
of the internal storm, romantic excesses, or internal stillness.
On stage, Joeri enters into a physical dialogue
with the ensemble as his colorful, inner voice.
